Quantum affine Toda solitons

چکیده
We review some of the progress in affine Toda field theories in recent years, explain why known dualities cannot easily be extended, and make some suggestions for what should be sought instead.

Affine Toda Solitons and Systems of Calogero-Moser Type
The solitons of affine Toda field theory are related to the spingeneralised Ruijsenaars-Schneider (or relativistic Calogero-Moser) models. This provides the sought after extension of the correspondence between the sine-Gordon solitons and the Ruijsenaars-Schneider model.
متن کاملRestricted Quantum Theory of Affine Toda Solitons
We quantise the reduced theory obtained by substituting the soliton solutions of affine Toda theory into its symplectic form. The semi-classical S-matrix is found to involve the classical Euler dilogarithm function. Current Address: Physics Department, Queen Mary & Westfield College, Mile End Road London E1 4NS UK
متن کاملSolitons, Boundaries, and Quantum Affine Algebras
This is a condensed write-up of a talk delivered at the Ramanujan International Symposium on Kac-Moody Lie algebras and Applications in Chennai in January 2002. The talk introduces special coideal subalgebras of quantum affine algebras which appear in physics when solitons are restricted to live on a half-line by an integrable boundary condition. We review how the quantum affine symmetry determ...
متن کاملQuantum mass corrections for affine Toda solitons
We calculate the first quantum corrections to the masses of solitons in some imaginary-coupling affine Toda theories using the semi-classical method of Dashen, Hasslacher and Neveu. The theories divide naturally into those based on the simplylaced, the twisted and the untwisted non-simply-laced algebras. We find that the classical relationships between soliton and particle masses found by Olive...
متن کاملInstability of Solitons in imaginary coupling affine Toda Field Theory
Affine Toda field theory with a pure imaginary coupling constant is a nonhermitian theory. Therefore the solutions of the equation of motion are complex. However, in 1 + 1 dimensions it has many soliton solutions with remarkable properties, such as real total energy/momentum and mass. Several authors calculated quantum mass corrections of the solitons by claiming these solitons are stable. We s...
